FGCS Letter 9/2025

Hello, FGCS parents.

My apologies for how long it’s taken me to reach out about upcoming classes. I’ve been wrestling with what to do about the increased cost of supplies after trying to shield families the last few years of inflation. The tariffs made it so Artingales barely broke even from January to May of this year, and tuition only covered minimum business expenses. Now that I’ve used up most of the overstock of canvases and other supplies from previous years, I won’t be able to float the business the same so fees must go up.

Because I love this work and creating with your children, I’m going to experiment with not raising the fees enough to pay myself anything yet, but to at least cover all overhead costs. That is still a 25% increase over last year. Instead, I’m going to turn on the tip function in Square invoices so those who have the means can add extra as tip and that’s what I’ll take as payment for my time. I’ll decide Artingales’ fate near the end of this year. Even if the business goes away, I can hold classes at Valley Art as an independent teaching artist and FGCS is the class I would love to keep while finding a different job for other days of the week because this is my favorite group.

Please take a look at the minimum fee schedule below and if it will work for you, the Valley Art classroom is reserved for us to start in one week, October 1st, and class would end at 5pm again. No need to fill out a registration as I’m working on that system, just text or email me that you want to start art and I’ll get invoices ready.

$125 – 5 weeks
$345 – 15 weeks
$570 – full school year (Available through Oct 22)

Full year includes a minimum of 25 available class days and a max of 30 days, leaving 4 absences to still get the best price per class. Full year families will be invoiced at $95 per child every 5 weeks. It’s also okay to request split payment of half one pay period and the other half up to 2.5 weeks later. Class will run October 1 through June 3rd and there may be one Wednesday I need to schedule off for a STEAM function.

If the increase strains your family budget too much I’ll understand if you need to drop art and I’ll stay in touch anytime I’m offering any free classes.
