Art Beginnings (K-1st grade)

Art beginnings introduces younger artists to some of the basics while preserving the innocent charm often found in their artwork. We focus mainly on color, shapes, variety and fun. This year's Art Beginnings will include the following 5 classes:

  • I Can't Resist
  • Garden Rocks
  • Colorful Claybots
  • Gel Plate Stencil Printing
  • My Pop-Up Book

Art Foundation I (2nd-4th grade)

Art basics such as color mixing, beginning drawing, and introduction to art media. The Foundation classes give students ample time to practice the technique often on more than one project, and include free expression time.

This year's Art Foundation I will include the following 6 classes:

  • Beyond Stick Figures
  • Color Blend Basics
  • Gel Plate Nature Printing
  • Show Your Perspective
  • My Name As An Icon
  • Colorful Claybots

Art Foundation II (2nd-4th grade)

Additional art basics designed to follow Art Foundation I session. Includes more complex color blending, intermediate drawing techniques, and other art media practice. The Foundation classes give students ample time to practice the technique often on more than one project, and include free expression time.

This year's Art Foundation II will include the following 6 classes:

  • Comic Cards
  • Moving Picture Plane
  • Styromania Relief Printing
  • Shading My World
  • Behind the Mask
  • Tissue Paper Impressionism

Art Media Sampler (2nd +)

Art Media Sampler introduces artists to a new art media each week with just enough time to sample the technique with a project that may carry over to the next week's media lesson before completion. Shorter classes than Foundations, but still robust. Best suited to 2nd grade and higher, and a good choice for those with time or budget constraints.

This year's Art Media Sampler will include the following 6 classes:

  • Ceramic Totems
  • Paint Color Mixer
  • Geometric Design Flow
  • Drawing My Perspective
  • Make-My-Own Printmaking
  • Binding Art Book

Painting For Kids (2nd grade +)

This Painting series focuses specifically on paint as a medium, introducing artists to varying styles seen through history. Prior artmaking experience through one of the Foundations or Sampler sessions is useful but not required.

This year's Painting For Kids will include the following 5 classes:

  • Modern Color Grids
  • What's your Pointillism
  • Curiously Cubist
  • Pastel Impressions
  • Plein Air Painting

Printmaking For Kids (2nd grade +)

The Printmaking series teaches students a variety of printmaking techniques used to create fine art. Prior artmaking experience through one of the Foundations or Sampler sessions is useful but not required.

This year's Printmaking for Kids will include the following 5 classes:

  • Gel plate monotypes
  • Re-purposeful Intaglio
  • Styromania Relief Printing
  • Collograph Plate Making
  • Collograph Printing
